Limburg

About Limburg

Limburg is the province with the most distinctive landscape in the Netherlands. The hills, sunken lanes, orchards and small villages give the area an almost foreign feel. In North and Central Limburg, on the other hand, you’ll find forests, stream valleys and water, giving the province a variety of faces, all of which invite you to get out and about. The villages are friendly, the distances short and nature is always close by. For families with young children, Limburg is easy to navigate, peaceful and surprisingly versatile.

Why go on holiday in Limburg?

Going on holiday in Limburg feels like a gentle transition to a slower pace of life. In South Limburg, you can head straight into the hills, where children can run, explore and play without the hustle and bustle. The surroundings have a relaxing effect: green slopes, peaceful walking trails and villages where time seems to slow down. In North Limburg, it is the combination of woods, play areas and water that makes it so lovely.

Limburg is ideal for young children because you never have to travel far to find a beautiful view, a woodland path or a farmyard with animals. Many places to stay are set in the heart of nature and are small-scale, which naturally makes for peaceful and unhurried days. Limburg gives you the feeling that you’ve really got away from it all, without having to go very far.
